The Lake Como area is known for its beautiful lake, but also for its stunning mountains and valleys. Just a few minutes from the town of Lecco is Valsassina, famous for its cheese production, including Taleggio, Caprino, Robiola, Quartirolo and Gorgonzola, to name but a few. Our excursion starts from the shores of Lake Como, between Malgrate and Bellano, and reaches Pasturo with a comfortable shared bus transfer.
On this excursion, you'll have the opportunity to discover the production and creation of these cheeses by visiting the dairy with a guided tour in Italian or English. You'll learn how a single raw material, milk, can be transformed into various types of cheese, from the sweetest to the most flavorful. At the end of the guided tour, the experience continues, moving from theory to practice! A rich cheese tasting awaits you in the dairy restaurant.

11:00 Start of the guided tour of the cheese factory in Italian or English. You will be taken on a journey to discover how the various types of cheese are produced and how they originate. You will be able to closely observe every stage of the cheese aging process, right through to the final packaging, which brings the cheese to market, for distribution, until it reaches our tables and our dishes.
This will be followed by a gourmet tasting at the dairy’s restaurant, featuring a tasting of different types of cheese with fruit compotes, a glass of wine, water, and coffee.
14:30 Departure by shared bus to return to the various departure locations.
15:30 Arrival at the various departure locations.
Thursday:

During the visit, all participants will be provided with the following items free of charge: shoe covers, smocks and hairnets, which are mandatory during the tour.
We recommend dressing in layers and wearing warm clothing, as the temperatures inside the dairy are low due to the presence of cold rooms.
