On the first day you will have the ticket for free circulation in the public boat of Lake Como departing from Varenna, it will allow you to get on and off for an unlimited number of trips from the boat to the intermediate stops of the circuit of the central lake.
Before leaving by boat from the Varenna pier, we recommend that you visit the splendid botanical park of Villa Monastero, the entrance ticket is included in the package.
The central lake boat circuit includes:
- the Bellagio stopover, where you can visit the Gardens of Villa Melzi D'Eril, the entrance ticket is included in the package;
- the Villa Carlotta stopover, where you can visit the interiors of the Villa and its beautiful botanical garden, the entrance ticket is included in the package.
On the morning of the second day you will have a local guide who will take you to discover the beauties and curiosities of the city of Lecco, birthplace of the famous author Alessandro Manzoni who wrote the novel of the Betrothed.
In the historic center of Lecco you will walk through the streets and squares of the center and you will be able to appreciate the pleasant lakeside strolling through the tree-lined avenue. During the visit of the city we will observe the various monuments of the personalities who have made the history of Lecco, among which we find: Alessandro Manzoni, Antonio Stoppani, Mario Cermenati, Giuseppe Garibaldi and the statue of the patron saint of the city, San Nicolò. Very famous and certainly not to be missed is the "Matitone" of the city is the bell tower of the Basilica of San Nicolò, so called for its similar pencil shape. Lecco is also known for its churches, in the city center you can find: the Basilica of San Nicolò, the Church of Santa Marta, the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Victory.
In the afternoon, the beautiful Castello di Vezio will be waiting for you, an ancient military fortress from the medieval era whose position is dominant over the entire center of Lake Como. You can observe a breathtaking view from the panoramic terrace in the company of the castle's "ghosts", statues that appear in different points of the fortress garden. Another peculiarity of the Vezio Castle are its birds of prey as the castle has hosted a small Falconry center for several years.
