Between poets, Roman history and the famous thermal baths of Sirmione

Known as the Poets' Peninsula because of its beauty, it has inspired many artists and poets throughout history, such as Catullus, Joshua Carducci, Ezra Pound and James Joyce, among many others.

Sirmione is a town of medieval origin, here we find the beautiful Scaliger Castle dating back to 1200. Towards the tip of the Sirmione peninsula we find the Grotte di Catullo, the remains of an ancient Roman villa.

The historical centre of Sirmione also offers numerous activities such as shops, restaurants and bars in the characteristic streets and alleys.

It is also famous for its thermal cures and treatments. The beneficial and curative properties of Sirmione's thermal waters have been known for centuries.

What to see during a visit to Sirmione: The Scaligero Castle, The Grottoes of Catullus, The Jamaica Beach, The Lido delle Bionde Beach, Thermal Baths, Church of San Pietro in Mavino, Punta Grò, Boat navigation on Lake Garda.
